Peder Skrams venner was established in 1996 with the aim of supporting the operation of the frigate Peder Skram.
It has around 350 members. Some of these voluntarily perform guard duty during the opening periods and man the radio station on board.
Furthermore, the association arranges a general cleaning of the frigate before the opening, as well as the annual frigate meeting, where former frigate sailors, among others, enjoy food and retell the old "pirate stories" from the time aboard the frigates.
