The Torpedo missile boat P547 SEHESTED.

The Torpedo missile boat SEHESTED was in the years1975-2000 together with her 9 sisterships the socalled Willemoes-class – also called ”The navy heroes ships” after the names of the heroes: 

BILLE, BREDAL, HAMMER, HUITFELDT, KRIEGER, NORBY, RODSTEEN, SEHESTED, SUENSON og WILLEMOES.

SEHESTED is named after Admiral Christen Thomesen Sehested (1664-1736).

Christian Sehested was among others known from the battles of Stralsund and Rügen during the big Nordic war (1700-1721) and he was the first chief in command of the new Naval Academy


The Willemoes class had the weapon power as the same level of a destroyer from 2nd World War.

It had a crew of 24 men and women on a very small space aboard.

P547 Sehested was built on the wharf of Frederikshavn from December 1976 till May 1977
