The Torpoedemissileboat P547 SEHESTED.

The torpedemissileboat SEHESTED was in the years 1975-2000 a part of the socalled Willemoes class with 9 other sister ships.

The class was named after and old Danish naval officer and the class was a contribution to the old Danish naval heroes:

BILLE, BREDAL, HAMMER, HUITFELDT, KRIEGER, NORBY, RODSTEEN, SEHESTED, SUENSON og WILLEMOES.

SEHESTED has the name after Admiral Christen Thomesen Sehested (1664-1736).

Christian Sehested was known from the battles at Stralsund og Rügen during the Great Nordic War (1700-1721), and as the first chief for the newly established Naval Academy in 1701.
