About us

The frigate Peder Skram is owned and operated by the Peder Skram fundation. The fund was established back in 1995, by interests who have been working at, and maintaining the frigate. A community of retired officers, petty officers and privates who had a great passion for maintaining the ships, preserving and passing on the histories from the cold war to the visitors coming from all over the world.

The fund is is a frehold institution with a board to manage the fund, and representatives who elects the board. The fund also runs and manage the submarine Saelen and the Torpedo Missile boat Sehested.

The fund is not receiving any econimical support from public or from the Government. The only income the fund is receiving, is from the sale of the tickets from the Museum in the opening seasons and special arrangements (guided tours, booking the messes and parties held aboard). Since this does not match the expensives for repairing and maintaining the ships, the fund are happy to receive contributions from other funds, communities and business partners. Among them The Majesty the Queen Magrethe and her husband His Majesty the Prince Henriks fund, have supported the fund's work four times.

The fund likes to show its gratitude for any kind of economical support helping us developing the Museum "Skibene paa Holmen" as a live Museum. The board, as well as the members from "Dansk Torpedobådsforening, Dansk Ubådsforening and the cicrle of friends from the community "Friends of Peder Skram" are doing all their work and help as volunteers for the Museum. The fund also has two employees working part time. Along with this they have a large number of volunteers full of passion from the cold wars history, who works with passion and love to tell the history from the old time about some of the best ships in the Navy.
